The MakeHuman side plugins are installed by placing the directory (for example 9exportmhx2) in the plugins directory where you unzipped or installed MakeHuman.The Blender side plugins are installed in Blender, in the addons part of the user preferences.As pull requests havent been merged upstreams for some time, were maintaining a fork with fixes that is needed for, for example, blender 2.80.
This is most likely what you want to use. You will need to read the README before trying to install this, it requires a few manual steps. The zip is for blender 2.80, use github to get version for 2.79. They cant really seem to figure out a way to handle the user getting pyffi installed into Blenders Python- or no, I really think they just arent confident enough to even bother putting together an installer, or some sort of proper and updated installation guide - or maybe even just too lazy. Might be a dumb oversight, but Ill give the benefit of doubt here since its just a dev build honestly. We really only want one folder out of that archive anyways, the rest is just github developer things you dont need. Besides getting pyffi installed is a pain in the but anyways - so lets just cut out the BS, I dont even want to discuss the ways I got here to figure this out. Took me a minute to realize you were referring to a specific folder inside the PyFFI-2.2.4.dev3 folder. Interesting that you were able to get it to install from the.Zip. They may have updated and fixed that issue - Ill check that out, perhaps update my instructions. Just changing a mesh too significantly unleashes the wrath of the error messages.
